Where It Begins
Written 08 August 2008
This is the first song I completed after moving up to Joplin, MO, on the sixth. So, the title is completely appropriate.
For those of you who are familiar with my back catalog (ha ha), the chorus may remind you of "You Won't Find Me." Don't worry, this is completely normal for you to react in this manner.

There were times I felt utterly alone I couldn't hear you in my strife How blind I was! How deaf I was! for by Your grace I'm shown Just look and listen: You are everywhere in my life Dimly through the mirror, I knew not before Why I faced the trials that I did But they are nothing when compared with what's in store Now instead of sorrowed, I'm delighted To have less and less of me . . . 'Cause I need You more and more, precious Lord You're the sacred gift I could never afford Yet You freely gave Your life for my sins So here and now is where it begins Now I know that Your Spirit dwells in me Giving life, body and mind And as I grow, Your blessings show that by Your grace I'm free Just ask, itŐs given, You said when I seek that I will find And when the winds of doubt shear through me like a storm It's by faith I trust You to guide me Make me more like clay for You to shape and form Let Your Spirit shine through and ignite me As there's less and less of me . . . 'Cause I need You more and more, precious Lord You're the sacred gift I could never afford Yet You freely gave Your life for my sins So here and now is where it begins Dimly through the mirror . . . (repeat PC1) 'Cause I need You more . . . (repeat C) |
